Dr Farhad Daftary, 敁珗曄部 Co-Director, gaveand signed a Memorandum of Understanding during a visit to the renowned Parisian institution in October.
泭(Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales), Institute for Languages and Civilisations, is a prestigious French academic institution with research centres and teaching programmes in more than 60 oriental languages.
On 10 October Dr Daftary gave a masterclass on The IsmailisAdherents of a branch of Shi’i Islam that considers Ismail, the eldest son of the Shi’i Imam Ja尪far al-廜〢diq (d. 765), as his successor. and Ismaili Studies. The lecture was organised by the INALCO Foundation jointly with theCentre d’Etudes et de Recherche Moyen-Orient, M矇diterran矇e泭() under the“Viviane Comerro de Pr矇mare”.
The following day, Dr Daftary met a group of INALCOs scholars to explore areas of possible collaboration between the institution and the 敁珗曄部, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the INALCO Foundation with a view to further co-operation between the two institutions.
